Alissa and her boys. Home at last. Enjoying those sweet newborn days. I hear this from parents of little babies all the time, how they are so worried baby “won’t cooperate” during our sessions, and I always gently remind them that we work around baby’s schedule during our time together? Is it feeding time? We shoot through that. Is it time for a diaper change? we’ll shoot through that! Is baby finally asleep and peaceful? Then we’ll take time to take shots of his beautiful features as he rests on the bed. No stress. We take it one step at a time.
One of my bucket list shots is shooting a huge family reunion event, documentary style. One with all the first and second cousins, uncles, aunts, grandmas and grandpas, and all the little babies and newest additions to the extended family. Unposed. Super natural. I don’t come from a very big family, and I’ve always craved having that type of extension to my own nuclear family. Man, it would have been awesome. My sons, though, will have that God willing, so I am excited to live vicariously through them :)
When S reached out to schedule a shoot while her mom and sisters visited from Saudi, you can bet I was super excited. Her baby B is the first grandchild in the family, and is super loved. I can’t blame them really, he’s got a heart of gold <3
